AI Recoder: A system that works from existing code to help analyze, explain, document, risk-scan, refactor, translate, and modernize old software through reviewable workflows.
Legacy Code: Older software that may be difficult to understand, maintain, test, or migrate.
Risk Scan: A scan that looks for possible modernization blockers, complexity signals, documentation gaps, and security review indicators.
Preview Scan: An early directional scan that helps identify possible issues. It is not a full audit or guaranteed modernization plan.
Static Analysis: Inspection of code text or structure without executing the code.
LOC: Lines of code.
Lines Analyzed: Source-code lines inspected by the platform.
Lines Recoded: Source-code lines transformed into reviewable modernized output.
Lines Validated: Modernized output associated with checks such as compiler, linter, sandbox, or test validation.
Production Counter: A strict public counter reserved for verified production usage only.
Build/Test Activity: A separate metric area for development and private testing activity.
Modernization Report: A report summarizing code inventory, risk signals, documentation gaps, modernization suggestions, and next steps.
Human-Reviewed Workflow: A workflow where AI-generated outputs are reviewed by a developer or responsible human before use.
Transpilation: Converting code from one language or version to another while preserving behavior as much as possible.
Refactoring: Improving code structure without intentionally changing behavior.
Recoding: Transforming existing code into clearer, more maintainable, documented, or modernized code.
Dogfood Scan: A founder/internal test using real project material to evaluate whether the platform works on its own motivating use cases.
XPressStores Lab: A founder-only private workflow for analyzing and packaging the XPressStores WordPress plugin/software as a dogfood modernization case.
